Acoustic Leak Detection
This service offers various non-destructive leak detection methods, from ultrasound to sound testing and correlation we can find almost any leak.
Used alone or alongside a service such as visual detection or gas analysis the acoustic leak locating equipment we use guarantees incredible accuracy without any work on walls or floors, and that means quick and minimal repairs. The equipment can even be used by our highly experienced dive team for detecting submerged leaks in swimming pools and reservoirs.
Our range of acoustic leak detection methods include;
Correlation leak location
This is an extremely accurate sound testing device which takes acoustically tested readings from the water pipes for a 96% chance of spotting any defects. Ideal for water main leaks it means you don’t have to resort to excavating pipework.
Sound testing
This method is typically used to confirm another test, listening to pipes and tanks to detect noise caused by faults or leaks. The microphones we use are sensitive enough to hear an eye blink and perfect for picking up drips or hissing gas.
Ultrasonic leak detection
Similar to a baby scan ultrasound, ultrasonic radar gives us a picture of the inside of your floor without removing any of it. Detecting cavities and faults it can trace water and gas pipes, cables and many other items underground. Ultrasonic helps us map your in-floor services.
Gas analysis location
This is a very new leak detection method that we’re one of the first in the UK to offer. Perfect for systems such as central heating we empty out all the water, pump a harmless gas around the system instead and can then detect the leak from the sound of the hissing gas escaping. So far, we’ve found gas analysis to be more accurate and fast than any other detection method.
On almost any track and trace job we combine acoustic analysis tools with visual leak detection methods such as thermal imaging and dye tracing to get as accurate a location as possible, minimising any repair work and saving you costs.
We can also supply equipment and train commercial detection teams
If you’re in the kind of business that deals with leak detection everyday, you can save on specialist costs by investing in your own leak location equipment. Everything we use we can also supply, with detailed training in how to use it across a range of situations. We’ve trained water board engineers from across the UK and can even teach you how to use the kit in submerged environments.
State of the art leak detection equipment and highly competent engineers make UK leak services Leak Detection your first choice for domestic or commercial leaks of any kind; if it’s leaking, we can locate it! Contact us today for more details or to arrange a no obligation estimate.
